Joseph and Mary Public School sets their voyage for unlocking the secrets of the historic world. On May 1st , 2025 , an educational trip was organised for the students of classes XI and XII of Arts and Commerce streams to the National Museum at Janpath road , Rajpath Area , Central Secretariat , New Delhi.  Students set their sails with the head count of 100 crewmates. Fortunately , there were foreign as well as state delegates who had also arrived for exploring the vibrant historic world. The students were welcomed starting with an ancient chariot to different sort of paintings, statues , coin gallery etc. The National Museum is said to have more than 12,000 small paintings and 2,00,000 artifacts. Students gained knowledge about the coins from the Mauryan and Gupta Empires to advancements of the coins of the British era. There were also statues of ancient civilizations made from Bronze which included the statue of Nataraj as well the Buddha . Vessels and utensils of Mughal Empire and paintings provided a vast glimpse of the ceremonies of the Mughal Empire. 'Jade' , a type of stone which helped in the manufacture of jugs , utensils , hairpins etc was used during the Mughal reign. Ancient paintings usually do not have the name of its artist but there is an ancient painting in the National Museum whose artist is mentioned on the painting itself . The painting lays out a wedding ceremony of Mughal Empire. Students got to know about the Harappan Civilization. Utensils made from Iron ; coffins of a rich kid , an adult and normal coffins made up of soil ; ab ancient chariot from 1800 BCE ; skeleton of a married women , their economic activities ; these all things about the Harappan Civilization gave vibrant knowledge to the students .
The BIGGEST PAINTING in the museum of ' Lord Rama ' when he became the king , was liked by many students. 
Overall , students explored the secret of the historic world in the National Museum . They all enjoyed and gained knowledge that will make them aware about their past as we need to study the past if we want to define the future !!

A momentous expedition to Queen of Hills   :  Shimla Trip By JMPS

Joseph and Mary Public School had organised a trip to the land of pure serenity , Shimla for the students of class X , XI and XII.  It was a 5 day trip organised for the students to explore the beauty of the nature and mountains with their friends and teachers.
On 29th May 2025 , the trip started students and teachers accommodated in two buses . Guides from Victory Camps also accompanied the students guiding and giving instructions to the students. An overnight journey from Delhi to Chail with lots of fun accompanied the students with great weather and scenery during the arrival at Vista Resort in Chail . The students were then divided into 2 teams - The Black Commandoes and The White Tigers each with 26 and 27 members.
There was a competition between both the teams upon various basis such as punctuality , camp manners , camp duties , room cleanliness, different games , guerrilla warfare and various other exciting activities. 

DAY 01 - Overnight Journey 

DAY 02 -  At Chail
Students were given their rooms . Later on they were accommodated into the 2 teams mentioned above and were headed by a knowledgeable and skillfull guide . Food was as if it were made in our own home . Students enrolled into 3 activities in the first half of the day :- AIR HUPPI , HIGH ROPE COURSE , ZIP-LINE. These activities were not only entertaining but also important for people in case of any emergency. In the next half , students went for a survival trek in the mountains where they cooked maggi by lighting out fire through natural means and then enjoyed the feast . After the survival trek , the bonfire night added immense pleasure to the students with a surprise that no one had every expected .

DAY 03 - At Chail
The day started with everyone assembling together and enjoying their breakfast. Further , the two teams went for a competition in a game called Hangman . This game was actually interesting and required enormous skills from each of its member . Coordination and cooperation was required a lot by the teams in this game . Further students continued with a pass the bottle game but in a unique way . After this activity , the main and the most important - Guerilla Warfare - Students had to show what they had learnt during the activities with solving puzzles and  crafting weapons for warfare . This activity required 3 teams within the team that were The Bombers , The Artillery Team , The Puzzle Solvers , each with their specific task . The students had to work out with the clues and find the materials that will help to fight the rival team . Later , the students went for a night trekk enjoying the beauty of nature and knowing how nature is during the night . Further , the students got the opportunity to write a journal about the Victory Camp.
PRIZE DISTRIBUTION 
Finally after all the activities, there was a prize distribution ceremony for the winners ! Guess who had won the competition? It was the Black Commandoes who had performed exceptionally good in every criteria of the competition. The White Tigers had also performed well so they were also provided with the prizes . Along with the winner of the competition, there were other criterias of winners like the best camper award for both boys and girls in both the teams , the best journal writer for both boys and girls in both teams and the best room for both boys and girls . 
After the successful camping , a DJ night added more pleasure to the joyous trip and the day was called off .

DAY 04 - Visit to Kufri Zoo and Shimla Mall Road 
The day started with students enjoying breakfast and going to the Kufri Zoo . The zoo had enormous biodiversity of the Flaura and Fauna of Himachal Pradesh. Some of them are the common leopard, brown bear , black bear , Sambar , Blue sheep , Himalayan Tahr with many birds and trees species. After the visit to Kufri Zoo , students travelled to Shimla Mall Road to enjoy the beautiful scenery and the Himachali Culture . Students also got to know about the Afghan cuisine who had opened their stall to let the world know about their culture. Not only this , many other stalls were also present . Students bought various commodities as a memorable present for themselves and for their family.

DAY 05 - Overnight Journey 

In conclusion , students got to enjoy the beautiful queen of the hills , Shimla and make memories that will be reminisced by everyone . Not only memories, they also got to know about the places, their climate , their culture , their biodiversity and many more . This experience was so good for the students that they felt the moment for seconds but the memories will last forever !!


In an effort to broaden their cultural horizons and foster global awareness, Joseph and Mary Public School, Burari, Delhi, recently organized a captivating celebration of Japanese culture. This event was a unique opportunity for students to immerse themselves in the rich heritage, traditions, and customs of Japan, a country known for its fascinating blend of ancient and modern ways. Through a variety of engaging activities, students gained a deeper understanding and appreciation of Japanese culture.

The festivities began with a Japanese Dress Day, where students donned traditional attire. The students' faces lit up with excitement as they admired each other's outfits, gaining a deeper appreciation for the cultural significance of these garments.

In the morning assembly, students presented an insightful showcase of Japanese culture, highlighting its unique customs, traditions, and famous songs. 

The highlight of the event was the Food Festival, where students savored a variety of authentic Japanese dishes, including sushi, ramen, and tempura. The aroma of delicious food wafted through the air, tantalizing the taste buds of everyone present. Students learned about the importance of food in Japanese culture and the etiquette surrounding mealtime.

To further immerse themselves in the Japanese language, students participated in an interactive session, "Making Familiar with Japanese Language". They learned basic phrases, such as "konnichiwa" (hello) and "arigatou" (thank you), which they eagerly practiced with their peers.

The Japanese Decoration activity allowed students to unleash their creativity, crafting beautiful paper lanterns, origami figures, and traditional Japanese motifs. The colorful decorations added a festive touch to the school premises, creating a lively atmosphere.

Through these activities, Joseph and Mary Public School aimed to promote cross-cultural understanding, appreciation, and exchange. The celebration not only introduced students to the fascinating world of Japanese culture but also fostered values like respect, empathy, and teamwork.
The event was a testament to the school's commitment to providing students with a holistic education, enriching their lives with diverse cultural experiences.

An Act of Spreading Kindness : Charity Campaign by JMPS

If God blesses you with more than your need , try to help the people who are in distress and need. On August 07 , 2025, a heartful initiative has been organised for the old age people by Joseph and Mary Public School . Our school organises such campaigns every year under the guidance of our honourable director sir Dr. Manin Thakur and with the help of PAROPKAAR club. For years , JMPS has been organising such measures for the welfare of the needed ones. This year too JMPS has done a charitable campaign for Shanti Bhavan , Burari - An NGO that is home to a great multitude of  elderly destitute women. The students have actively participated in this campaign by donating amounts from their savings and some with the help of their parents and guardians. Along with them , the management has also effectively participated in the campaign. This donation was done in goods and commodities required for everyday use for the old age home ranging from rations , household hygiene products and specially an Air Conditioner on the demand of the NGO - Shanti Bhawan - itself. Not only the donation but also the students of classes VI to XII led by our director sir Dr. Manin Thakur , Vice Principal Ma'am Mrs. Tilak Lepcha and Headmaster sir Mr. Manoj Arora went to their residence and got to know various aspects of our society. They interacted with the sweet elderly women talking about their conditions and that brought a smile on their face. They were really glowing with happiness when they saw the children coming to interact with them. Our students performed energetic and enthusiastic dance with elderly women themselves. Not only this , they sang in order to upbring a smile on their face as grinnest as possible. Every demand that they asked for was listened and worked upon. Our students boosted their confidence and trust by engaging in a talk with them . They were really thrilled to have someone listen their unattended stories. Their eyes glimmered with strength, full of hope and were truly resilient. The students were showered with blessings and happiness. The students learned the value of being positive, not giving up , importance of elderly people in a family and visioned to have a deep connection with their parents and will never leave them alone in any of situations , be it disastrous or ordinary. Our director sir Dr. Manin Thakur motivated our students and expressed the conditions of elderly people in our world and to be empathetic towards them and show a lot of care since they are the one who needs us now in their stressful time. 
The NGO's - Shanti Bhawan - heads expressed their heartful greetings and gratitude to our director sir and Paropkaar club for such efforts and actions done by our students for them which truly means a lot to them. 
Every year , our school organises such compassionate programs and Shanti Bhawan has its omnipresence in it . The residents who showed our students the essence of optimism provided a lasting glimpse of the impact of one's actions on their parents .
Next year too , something great awaits for them where our students , our school and our efforts will bring a smile on their faces again .

In the realm of local governance, the Gram Panchayat stands as the first place where direct democracy is practiced, empowering citizens to participate in decision-making processes that shape their communities.
Joseph and Mary Public School, Burari, Delhi, recently conducted a dynamic Gram Panchayat session 19th August, 2025, providing a platform for the students to engage in critical discussions and debates on pressing community issues. The event was a testament to the school's commitment to fostering leadership skills, critical thinking, and civic engagement among its students.

The event commenced with a warm welcome from the Director Sir, who facilitated Dr. Bhaskar, the chief guest for this creative event.

The session featured thoughtful discussions and debates among students, who demonstrated remarkable insight and creativity in identifying problems and proposing solutions.
The topics discussed included:

- Establishing a library for youth to promote literacy and learning
- Addressing corruption and lack of transparency in governance
- Developing a local market system to boost economic growth
- Tackling rising addiction issues among youth and adults
- Encouraging creative expression and promoting local talent

Special guest Dr. Bhaskar delivered an inspiring speech, motivating the young participants to strive for excellence and make a positive impact in their communities.
Respected Director sir, Dr. Manin Thakur, was also present at the event, who was warmly welcomed by the organizers. The session provided valuable insights into the working of a Gram Panchayat and the importance of youth participation in local governance.

The event served as a valuable learning experience, showcasing the potential of young people to drive progress and lead their communities towards a brighter future.

Upbringing and The Gravity of Change through Youth Parliament: By JMPS

Truth emerges only when it is exposed to conflicting ideas , views and beliefs. This spirit glimmered on August 21, 2025 , Joseph and Mary Public School organised Youth Parliament - The Voice of People - to uncover the truth . For more than a decade of youth transforming into politicians and ministers ,  this year too the students of our school addressed important issues prevalent in our country . Each voice was represented in the parliament under the guidance of our director Dr. Manin Thakur Sir along with our Principal Dr. Madhu Sinha ma'am and Vice Principal Mrs. Tilak Lepcha Ma'am, the students fostered a deep sense of integrity and nationalism.

This platform provided the students to sharpen and hone their elocution skills while at the same time solving issues that stands with great conviction and puzzling nature.
The event began with a beautiful and mesmerizing dance performance and initiated with the welcoming of new members of the parliament. Following issues were the locus of interest and subject to debates in the parliament:-
1. Operation Sindoor
2. VCC
3. AI - Threat or Opportunity 
4. Startup Culture - Vocal For local
5. Sustainable Development Goals
6. Saffronisation of India

These themes were addressed with both criticality and rationality from the Opposition party and the Ruling Party. With the clash of the opposition party and the ruling party , various issues were tackled and solutions came out with great enthusiasm.
Each and every issue was debated and disagreements were profound , nevertheless all the students were in fact united with a common goal of making India great. Every ministry ranging from Petroleum and Natural Gas , Civil Aviation ,Culture , External Affairs supported with multiple members of parliament and the opposition party - All worked together.

The session was a resounding success with students demonstrating their potential as future leaders and change makers under the guidance and support of our director Dr. Manin Thakur Sir and with the social science department. Students answered the questions with confidence and proved themselves worthy to become a change maker since the secret of change is to focus all of your energy not on fighting the old , but on building the new and the students well understood the essence of it .

The Tenth Edition of JMPS Model United Nations Event

Since its inception in 1945, the United Nations Organisation (UNO) has been at the forefront of international relations and dynamics as the prime forum for negotiations, discussions, cooperations and joint efforts for growth, development, establishment of peace, harmony and relief amongst the nations of the world. Hence the UN, its affiliations and works have been widely studied all over the world as the paradigm of debate, consultation, and coordination. 
The Joseph and Mary Public School, in accordance with its emphasis on holistic development and inculcation of worth as global citizens in its students, since its foundation has supported and initiated activities which gives its students the opportunities to learn, practice and perform their part to grow as respected members of the emerging global village. 

The 23rd of August this year marked the tenth edition of the JMPS-MUN (Joseph and Mary Public School Model United Nations) event. The Model United Nations is a platform for students which works in simulation at the United Nations with the aim to provide students with experience and ideas regarding the same. This year saw a large number of students from various classes of standards ninth to twelfth participate in the six committees, five of international conventions (namely The United Nations Security Council (UNSC), the United Nations Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (UN-COPUOS), The United Nations Security Council (UNGA), The United Nations Conference on Trade And Development (UNCTAD) and United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (UNCSW)) and one of national politics (The All India Political Parties Meet (AIPPM)). 

This multi-institutional event where various delegates of multiple educational establishments were present (so as to give a chance to students to compete on a more potent and vigorous level) began in the presence of Esteemed Director sir Dr. Manin Thakur, Esteemed Principal Dr. Madhu Sinha, Esteemed Vice-Principal Mrs. Tilak Lepcha and Esteemed Headmaster Mr. Manoj Arora (who was also responsible for orchestrating this event) with a cultural performance followed by inspirational words of the Director sir and Principal ma’am at the end of which the President of JMPS-MUN, Ms. Jasmeet Kaur, formally proclaimed the beginning of the event.

For hours all the committees saw exchanges of various ideas and facts, clashes between opposing viewpoints, allegations and defenses as well as endorsements and agreements over the respective agendas and sub-agendas.
The UNSC convened over the grave conflicts in the middle-east region which churned the resolution of negotiation between Israel and Palestine and the hot-spot of Jerusalem shall constitute a separate electorate under the UNO. 
The UNGA convened over the vital Sustainable Development Goals and Inequality across the world and resolved with advocation and promotion of policies, initiatives and institutions on social and political level to bring the goals of global welfare into realization.
The UNCTAD convened over the recent tariffs imposed by the United States of America on various nations of the world with concern to its global impact and resolved by affirming the long held traditions of globalization with strengthened emphasis on its function in the backdrop of recent mishappenings.
The UNCSW convened over the emerging issue of tech facilitated gender based violence and and came to a resolution of regulations on technology so as to promote general well being of women and emphasis on educating people about the vitality of respect for other genders.
The UNCOPUOS convened over regulating the presence of debris in space which are becoming a major concern with the increase of artificial space activity and in resolution they affirmed the regulation and emphasized on the guidance of previously put provisions in the direction. 
The AIPPM convened over the longly-debated topic of review of sedition laws in India and came to the resolve of change in the existing policies which deal with such laws so as to protect individual dignity and minimize misuse of such laws.

Afterwards the delegates had a break and refreshments and assembled again. The chairpersons of all the committees presented the aforementioned resolutions and the members with exceptional performance from all the committees were awarded. With this and kind words from various honorable members of school administration the Joseph and Mary Public School Model United Nations Event for the year 2025 was formally concluded.
